Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the StellarVana iOS app and the stellarvana.com website (the “Services”). These pages are operated by the operator of stellarvana.com. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of stellarvana.com. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

This page is a plain-language EULA-style description for the website. It is not legal advice and has not been certified by counsel. Purchases in the iOS app are also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA).

1. What StellarVana is

StellarVana is an educational astronomy star map and celestial reference for Education and Reference: the sky above your horizon, IAU constellations, Sun, Moon, and planets, plus eclipse countdowns with honest visibility labels. Positions are calculated on your device. It is not a natal chart, not a horoscope, not fortune-telling, not a photographer’s shot planner, and not medical or professional advice. You are responsible for outdoor safety and for decisions you make.

2. Eligibility

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction (or have a parent or guardian’s consent where required). The Services are not directed to children under 13.

3. License and acceptable use

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the iOS app (as downloaded from the App Store) and this website. You agree not to copy or reverse-engineer the app except as allowed by law, interfere with the Services, use them unlawfully, or present StellarVana as astrology, guaranteed visibility, medical advice, or a camera AR product.

4. Your content

Pins, light-log notes, bookmarks, and coordinates you enter stay on your device. You are responsible for what you write. There is no StellarVana iCloud sync in this version. We do not claim ownership of your observation notes. See the Privacy Policy.

5. In-app purchases

StellarVana may be used without a subscription (live star map, Search, geocentric eclipse countdowns, and related Free features). Optional Premium features are sold as auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple (StoreKit). Current US reference prices published on this website: $4.99 per month and $39.99 per year. Apple shows the live price, period, and auto-renew terms on the paywall before you purchase. Payment, billing, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and the Standard EULA. Manage subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Restore purchases from Instruments → Settings → Subscription in the app, or from the paywall.

We do not receive your full payment card number. Website prices are a US reference and may differ by territory. Apple’s paywall is authoritative.

6. Apple

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these website Terms and is not responsible for the Services except as required by Apple’s own rules. StellarVana is an iOS app; we do not currently offer an Android app, Apple Watch app, or Mac app.

7. Disclaimer

The Services are provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Catalog magnitudes, ISS passes, and eclipse labels are educational reference — not a guarantee you will see an object from your backyard. Hold-up depends on device compass accuracy. Free eclipse cards are geocentric candidates, not local visibility.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services. Mandatory consumer protections in your country still apply.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
